News in the arts: International shorts shown at the Brooks

For weeks and even months, movie fans have had the opportunity to see such Oscar-nominated features as "Avatar," "The Blind Side" and "The Hurt Locker." But the short films nominated for Academy Awards typically are seen only by Oscar voters and dedicated cinephiles. On Location: Memphis -- the cinema arts group that organizes the annual On Location: Memphis Film Festival -- aims to change that with screenings next weekend
